A POPULAR park in Ballymena was under lockdown again on Friday … this time because of the wind.
Summer is just around the corner but the People’s Park was closed this afternoon because of high winds.
The park only recently opened after coronavirus lockdown restrictions were relaxed but today it was the elements which led to the padlocks going on again.
In a statement, Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, said: “Unfortunately due to the high winds we have had to close People’s Park in Ballymena due to the risk of flying debris.
“If you are out walking this afternoon, please do take care and avoid putting yourself at risk.”
Elsewhere, Gateside Road in Coleraine was closed due to a fallen tree.
