A PIPER played as mourners attending the funeral of Jason Martin in Ballymena on Thursday paused for reflection as a mark of respect at the scene of his murder in the town’s Ballykeel estate.
Mr Martin, a 31-year-old father-of-two, died last weekend following a stabbing at a house at Orkney Drive.
His funeral cortege made its way through the Ballykeel Two estate on Thursday afternoon.
His coffin was covered in a flag of Jason’s beloved Liverpool FC – the team he watched win the Premier League title last week.
A number of mourners wore Liverpool FC jerseys.
A wreath saying ‘Ballykeel FC’ was laid at the murder scene during the funeral.
