POLICE are treating as arson a fire which destroyed a vehicle in Dervock.

Police attended a report of car on fire at the McArthur Avenue area on Sunday 9th August.

Inspector Mick Wood said: “It was reported at approximately 3am that a white Ford Fiesta was alight in the area. Colleagues from Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service attended and extinguished the blaze.

“Enquiries are continuing and the fire is being treated as deliberate.

“I would appeal to anyone who has any information or anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact police on 101 quoting reference 459 09/08/20. You can also submit a report online using our non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
