Police arrest man following report of disturbance in Ballymena town centre

POLICE received a report of an altercation involving a number of men the Granville Drive area of Ballymena this morning (Saturday 20th June).

Inspector Reid said: “At around 10:45am, it was reported to police that a fight was taking place in the area. Upon arrival of police, a number of people were spoken but there was no ongoing disturbance.

“One man aged in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences. He is currently in police custody.”

In another incident in Ballymena – this time last night – a search was conducted at an address in the Orkney Drive area.

A PSNI spokesperson told ‘Ballymena Daily’: “A number of items were seized and have been taken away for further examination.”
