POLICE were called to a report of an overdose at a Simon Community hostel, and then found a man had 40 Diazepam and ten Pregabalin tablets, Ballymena Magistrates Court was told.
Scott Clegue (43), with an address in Belfast, admitted possessing Class C drugs in relation to January last year.
At court this week a prosecutor said the defendant admitted the tablets were his.
A defence lawyer said the defendant, originally from the Isle of Man, had addiction issues and had previously received treatment for heroin addiction.
He said the defendant was “offered” the drugs and “foolishly accepted”.
The lawyer said Clegue has now “got himself in order” and now has his “own place”.
The defendant was given a two months prison term, suspended for a year.
