Police called to ‘serious’ two vehicle collision

POLICE were called to a “serious” two vehicle collision at Benvardin Road between Ballybogey and Derrykeighan this afternoon.

Police Causeway Coast and Glens said on social media: ‘Benvardin Road, Ballymoney, is closed at Ballybogey Road and Castlecat Road junctions due to a serious two vehicle road traffic collision.”

The police message added: “Please seek alternative routes.”

A Northern Ireland Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 15:59 on Monday 16 November following reports of a 2 vehicle RTC on Benvardin Road, Ballymoney.

“NIAS dispatched 1 Rapid Response Paramedic, 2 Emergency Crews and an Ambulance Officer to the scene.

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, 1 patient was taken to Causeway Hospital,” Belfast Live reports.
