DRUGS worth £20,000 and £16,000 in cash have been recovered by police who stopped a vehicle in the Ahoghill area.
The PSNI Ballymena Facebook page said: ‘On Friday 27th September at around 2140hrs DST (District Support Team) Officers where carrying out proactive patrols in the Ahoghill area.
‘DST stopped a suspicious vehicle in the area. The driver was uncooperative and tried to flee on foot carrying a rucksack.
‘Officers managed to wrestle the rucksack from him prior to the male making his escape.
‘A search of the vehicle and rucksack found herbal cannabis worth £20,000 and approximately £16,000 in cash. Other items were also located and seized including drug paraphernalia and an offensive weapon.
‘A male was arrested the following day and has been bailed pending further forensic enquiries.’
