Police saw drink driver speeding up and slowing down ‘for no reason’ in Ballymena town centre

A DRINK driver failed to stop for police in Ballymena town centre and officers watched him speed up and slow down “for no reason” before officers were able to pull him in.

Adrian Jozef Kobylarczyk (32), of Millfield in the town, came to the attention of the PSNI at 7pm on May 21 this year.

A prosecutor told Ballymena Magistrates Court the defendant failed a preliminary breath test and at Antrim Police Station he provided an evidential alcohol in breath reading of 58 – the legal limit is 35.

No ‘L’ plates were displayed on the vehicle.

The defendant was self-represented in court.

He was banned from driving for a year and fined £225 on charges of driving with excess alcohol in breath and failure to display L plates.
