POLICE have warned that youths throwing apples at passing vehicles could cause an accident.
The Police Antrim & Newtownabbey Facebook page said: ‘An apple a day might keep the doctor away, but maybe not the PSNI.
‘Over the weekend Antrim Police received numerous reports of youths throwing apples at cars in the Fountain Hill / Donegore Orchard area of Antrim.
‘This activity is extremely dangerous to road users, drivers may swerve out of the way, potentially causing a road traffic collision, injury or worse to a pedestrian.
‘Criminal damage can also be caused to cars.
‘Any youths detected throwing apples at cars or pedestrians could get a criminal record.
‘Parents, please advise your children of the dangers. It what might seem like a bit of fun to some, but could have serous implications.
