POLICE have revealed details of the number of fines they have handed out to people in Mid & East Antrim in connection with covid law breaches during the pandemic.
The figures show that from the start of the pandemic in March to October 4, fifty Community Resolution Notices were given out in the district.
50 ‘Cov1’ penalty notices starting at a £60 fine rising to a maximum of £960 (issued to over-18s only) were also given out in the borough.
Two ‘Cov2’ notices were issued to commercial premises – they are prohibition notices issued to licenced premises.
Four ‘Cov2’ notices were handed out in Mid & East Antrim – they are prohibition notices issued for restriction of gatherings in a private dwelling.
Two people in the district were hit with ‘Cov3’ failure to isolate fines (£1,000 fine) according to the statistics.
