10 new Covid cases reported in Mid & East Antrim in the last day was the lowest number in all eleven council districts in Northern Ireland.

There were 726 new cases reported across Northern Ireland in the last day – the second highest daily figure since the pandemic began.

The previous day Northern Ireland recorded its highest daily rise of 934 new cases.

The overall number of cases in Northern Ireland is now 13,612.


There have been 892 cases in Mid & East Antrim out of 23,873 tests since the pandemic started.

The 10 new cases locally came from 175 tests.

There were 160 new cases in Belfast and 142 in the Derry City & Strabane council area in the last day with 123 in Newry, Mourne & Down.

The locations of 73 cases were marked as ‘not known’; Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon recorded 54 new cases and Mid Ulster 52.

Causeway Coast & Glens had 33; Antrim & Newtownabbey had 27 new cases and Lisburn & Castlereagh had 25.

Fermanagh & Omagh had 16; Ards & North Down 11 and Mid & East Antrim had 10.


The number of people who have died across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began, according to the Department of Health, is 583.


The latest recorded covid-related death, in the last 24 hours, occurred in the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon area.
