Saturday’s update: Three covid-related deaths reported in Mid & East Antrim area in last day

THREE covid-related deaths have been reported in Mid & East Antrim area in the last day.

There have been 15 coronavirus-related deaths reported in Northern Ireland in the last 24 hours.

12 of the 15 deaths happened in the last 24 hours and three occurred before that but have only now been added to the daily statistics.

As well as the 3 deaths in Mid & East Antrim there were 4 deaths in Derry City & Strabane; 3 in Belfast and 2 in Lisburn & Castlereagh.

The other deaths were in Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon; Mid Ulster and the location of 1 was described as ‘not known’.

The number of covid-related deaths across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began is now 774, according to the Department of Health.

According to Department of Health figures there have been 53 covid-linked deaths in Mid & East Antrim.

There were 21 new coronavirus cases in Mid & East Antrim in the last day.

That was down from 31 cases in the area the previous day.

The total number of cases in the Mid & East Antrim district since the start of the pandemic is now 2,024.

There were 528 new covid cases in the last 24 hours across Northern Ireland.

The number of covid cases across Northern Ireland since the pandemic started is 42,497.

Statistics now show a weekly breakdown of new cases by postcode areas – for example the BT42 and BT43 areas which take in the Ballymena district had 96 and 37 respectively in the last week.
