Sunday’s update: Mid & East Antrim continues to have lowest daily number of new covid cases in Northern Ireland

MID & East Antrim continues to have the lowest recorded daily number of new covid cases in Northern Ireland.

6 new cases were reported in the local borough out of 462 new cases in Northern Ireland.

The overall number of cases in Northern Ireland is now 14,074.

There have been 898 cases in Mid & East Antrim out of 23,995 tests since the pandemic started.

The 6 new cases locally came from 122 tests.

There were 120 new cases in Belfast and 91 in the Derry City & Strabane council area in the last day with 70 in Newry, Mourne & Down.

Mid Ulster had 40; Fermanagh & Omagh 34; Lisburn & Castlereagh 23 and Antrim and Newtownabbey and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon each had 21 cases.

Causeway Coast & Glens had 15 and Ards & North Down 11.

The locations of 10 cases were marked as ‘not known’ and Mid & East Antrim had 6.

 

The number of people who have died across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began, according to the Department of Health, is 584.

 

The latest recorded covid-related death, in the last 24 hours, occurred in the Antrim and Newtownabbey area.
