THERE have been 5 new reported Covid cases in Mid & East Antrim in the last day.
There were 69 new cases reported across the whole of Northern Ireland in the last 24 hours.
There have been 633 cases in Mid & East Antrim out of 15,573 people tested in the area since the pandemic started.
There were 87 new cases in Mid & East Antrim in the last week and in the same period Belfast had 101 new cases.
It means Mid & East Antrim had the second highest number of new cases in Northern Ireland in the last week.
The area also had the second highest number of new cases in the last 14 days – 166 – compared to Belfast’s 179.
There have been 579 cases in Antrim & Newtownabbey – a rise of 8 since yesterday – and 406 – a rise of 1 – in Causeway Coast & Glens.
The total number of cases in Northern Ireland since the pandemic began is 6,964.
Out of the 69 new cases in Northern Ireland in the last day, Belfast had 22; Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon had 15 and Antrim & Newtownabbey had 8.
Mid & East Antrim and Newry, Mourne & Down each had 5 and there were 4 new cases in Lisburn & Castlereagh.
Derry City & Strabane had 3; Ards & North Down had 2; the location of 2 were ‘not known’ and Causeway Coast & Glens, Mid Ulster and Fermanagh & Omagh each had 1.
The number of people who have died across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began, according to the Department of Health, is 560.
One further death recorded by the Department of Health was reported in the last day but which occurred earlier.
The death was in the Antrim & Newtownabbey area.
In Mid & East Antrim, since the pandemic started, the number of people who died is 44 according to Department of Health statistics.
The Health Department says there have been 61 deaths in Antrim and Newtownabbey and 39 in Causeway Coast and Glens.
