TRIBUTES have been paid to well respected funeral director Joe Jamieson from the Broughshane area who has passed away.
Mr Jamieson, from the Carnlough Road outside the village, was well-known in the Braid Valley area and beyond.
He passed away on Sunday.
J. Stevenson and Son Funeral Directors in Ballymena said: “It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of our personal friend and colleague for many years Mr Joe Jamieson”.
A number of tributes have been paid online to Mr Jamieson.
One said: ‘So sorry to hear this sad news, Joe and Jeanette was such lovely people they helped us through our dark days in November past, deepest sympathies to all the family circle’.
Another said: ‘Sincere condolences to the family, Joe was a perfectionist as an undertaker and a great help and comfort to families when they needed his services.’
A further post said: ‘So sad to be reading this. Joe was a true gentleman. Was always so courteous and a good friend to so many when they were going through difficult times. Such a wonderful and dignified man. Deepest sympathy.’
Another person said: ‘Such a gentleman and such a wonderful dignified man lovely born again Christian will be sorely missed condolences to his family.’
Another post said: ‘Was so sorry to hear about Joe. He was a true gentleman & always smiling ready for a chat. Thoughts & prayers are with Janette & boys & wider family circle xx.’
A woman said: ‘A terrible loss of a absolute gentleman….. He had a heart of gold…. He will be very sadly missed around the Braid…. RIP Joe x’
Another comment was: ‘Joe was a gentleman , many a time I was in Joe’s taxi on a Saturday going into the town with my dad, condolences to the family at this sad time xx’
