THERE have been 13 coronavirus-related deaths in Northern Ireland in the last day including 1 fatality in Mid & East Antrim.
Three deaths were in Newry, Mourne & Down while Antrim & Newtownabbey; Derry City & Strabane and Ards & North Down each recorded two deaths.
There was one death in Mid Ulster; one in Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon and one in Lisburn & Castlereagh.
Of the 13 people who died eight were aged between 60-79 and five were aged over 80.
There were 20 new coronavirus cases in Mid & East Antrim in the last day.
There were 722 new covid cases in the last 24 hours across Northern Ireland.
The total number of cases in the Mid & East Antrim district since the start of the pandemic is now 1,599.
The number of covid cases across Northern Ireland since the pandemic started is 35,554.
Statistics now show a weekly breakdown of new cases by postcode areas – for example the BT42 and BT43 areas which take in the Ballymena district had 81 and 34 respectively in the last week.
The previous BT42 figure was 67 so that is a rise of 14 whilst the previous BT43 figure was 38 meaning a reduction of 4.
The number of covid-related deaths across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began is now 671, according to the Department of Health.
According to Department of Health figures there have been 48 covid-linked deaths in Mid & East Antrim.
Health Minister Robin Swann has urged people across Northern Ireland to “dig in and get through winter together”.
The Minister said: “I know the people of Northern Ireland will join with me in expressing my deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who have passed away.
“Unfortunately, the predictions that were made about the increase in cases and the consequences this will bring are coming true,” he said last week.
