Tuesday’s update: Mid & East Antrim has again registered the lowest daily number of new covid cases in Northern Ireland

MID & East Antrim has again registered the lowest daily number of new covid cases in Northern Ireland.

15 new cases were reported in the local borough out of 669 new cases in Northern Ireland.

The previous day in Northern Ireland there had been 616 cases.

The overall number of cases in Northern Ireland is now 15,359.

There was one covid-related death reported in the latest information released by the Department of Health. It was in Mid-Ulster.

There have been 929 cases in Mid & East Antrim out of 24,362 tests since the pandemic started.

The 15 new cases locally came from 187 tests.

There were 204 new cases in Belfast and 158 in the Derry City & Strabane council area; 54 in Mid Ulster and 53 in Newry, Mourne & Down in the last day.

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon had 40 cases; Lisburn & Castlereagh 35 and Antrim & Newtownabbey, Ards & North Down and Causeway Coast & Glens each had 27.

Fermanagh and Omagh had 22; Mid & East Antrim had 15 and the locations of 7 cases were marked as ‘not known’.

The number of people who have died across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began, according to the Department of Health, is 585.
