MID & East Antrim has the second highest number of new Covid cases in Northern Ireland in the last two weeks as three fresh local cases were revealed on Tuesday.

Only the Newry, Mourne & Down area has had more cases that Mid & East Antrim in the last two weeks.

There have been 45 new cases in the Newry Mourne and Down area in the last fortnight and 32 in Mid & East Antrim.

Eight new cases were reported across Northern Ireland in the last day – three of them in Mid & East Antrim.

There have been 426 cases in Mid & East Antrim out of 9,800 people tested in the area since the pandemic started.

There have been 463 cases in Antrim & Newtownabbey and 320 in Causeway Coast & Glens.

The total number of cases in Northern Ireland since the pandemic began is 5,996.

The number of people who have died across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began, according to the Department of Health, is 556. That figure has not risen for a number of weeks.

In Mid & East Antrim since the pandemic started the number of people who died is 43 according to Department of Health statistics.

The Health Department says there have been 59 deaths in Antrim and Newtownabbey and 39 in Causeway Coast and Glens.
