TUV councillors on Mid & East Antrim Borough Council have welcomed the reopening of toilet facilities.
Bannside representative, Alderman Stewart McDonald, said: “For some time I have been pushing the Council to reopen toilets facilities at local football pitches. I am delighted that I have received confirmation this afternoon that this will be happening.
“When the pandemic reached Northern Ireland we didn’t know what we were dealing with and it was understandable that things that we once took for granted – such as football – came to a sudden halt.
“As we now move to a different stage in our response to the virus and, for now, learn to live with the necessary safety measures it is right the facilities such as these open again.”
Ballymena TUV councillor Matthew Armstrong added: “I have no doubt that this will be greatly welcomed by sportsmen and women across Mid and East Antrim. It is a common sense move which I have pushed for for some time.”
