TWO months ahead of December 25 and Ballymena’s main Christmas Tree is up.

The Tree is in place outside The Braid building ahead of the annual switch-on ceremony which will be held on Thursday November 14 this year.

Last year The Braid building was given stunning decorations to make it look like a giant Christmas present which won many plaudits.

However, a metal ‘tree’ at Broadway attracted some criticism.

This year’s switch-on event is due to take place at Harmony Hub at Broadway between 4pm-7pm on November 14 according to the Mid & East Antrim Borough Council website.

The site says: ‘Join us at Harmony Hub and see Santa and his live reindeer in the spectacular lantern parade including Clydesdale Horses and dray, ponies, Broughshane Pipe Band and local schools.

‘There will be plenty of festive family fun with performance from Raise the Roof Kids Choir, live music, Christmas characters and much more!’
