Video: Ballymena takes part in second ‘Clap for Carers’ event as coronavirus pandemic continues

The Larne Road was one of the areas in Ballymena where people took part in the Clap for Carers event tonight.

PEOPLE in Ballymena and beyond have tonight taken part in a second “Clap for Carers” tribute, saluting NHS staff and other key workers dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.

Delivery drivers, supermarket staff, care workers and bin collectors were among those honoured.

People gathered at their doorsteps in places like Ballyclug Mews and Larne Road in Ballymena where ‘Ballymena Daily’ was present to make a video of proceedings.

Clapping could be heard along with shouts and kitchen items were banged.

The event is expected to happen every Thursday at 8pm.
