Video of altercation between schoolgirls surrounded by crowd of spectators goes ‘viral’

A VIDEO of an altercation between two girls surrounded by a crowd of spectators which is believed to have happened in the area of Ballymena Bus Station at school home time is reported to have gone ‘viral’ on social media.

It is understood it was viewed thousands of times and today the altercation was reported upon on the front page of the Ballymena Guardian.

Police said they received a report of an assault in the Galgorm Road area regarding Tuesday November 19.

A spokesperson told the paper: “At around 3.30pm it was reported that two females were involved in an altercation in the area. There were no reports of any serious injuries.

“It was reported there were a large number of young people in the area at the time of the incident who we believe can assist with our enquiries.

“As we establish the circumstances surrounding this incident, we would appeal to anyone with information in relation to this matter to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1150 19/11/19.”
