A MOTORIST has admitted using a car without insurance at Raceview Road, Broughshane.
Lindsay Simpson (33), of Westbourne Gardens, Ballymena, also pleaded guilty to a driving licence offence relating to the same date – May 12 this year.
A prosecutor told Ballymena Magistrates Court said police noticed the vehicle and their system showed the driver had no licence.
Police then contacted an insurance firm who said the absence of a licence had not been disclosed when the insurance policy was taken out.
Defence solicitor Emma McCann said the defendant previously had a provisional licence but that expired.
The court heard the defendant is a mother-of-five and the vehicle should not have been used until everything was attended to but “with the times that are in it she foolishly did that”.
The defendant was banned from driving for three months and fined £150.
