Woman admits string of shoplifting offences in Ballymena including theft of boxer shorts

A WOMAN has admitted a string of shoplifting offences including taking more than £1,300 worth of items from Sainsbury’s in Ballymena, and the theft of boxer shorts.

Louise Browne (31), with an address listed as High Street in Ballymena, stole grocery/hardware items worth £590 on July 19 this year and grocery/hardware items worth £774 on July 22.

She also took a bottle of Fabulosa disinfectant and approximately ten bottles of Zoflora disinfectant to the total value of £30 from Poundstretcher at Braidwater Retail Park in Ballymena on May 9 this year.

On July 30 this year she stole gin worth £25 from Robinson’s Supermarket, Ballymena, and on the same date she was in possession of Mirtazapine.

On September 4 she took five bottles of vodka and three bottles of rum worth £160 from Tesco and on September 12 she stole three packets of boxer shorts worth £45 from TK Maxx and goods worth £12 from Poundland.

The cases were mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court where defence barrister Ben Thompson said they were to be guilty pleas and the matters were adjourned to November for a pre-sentence report.
