Norman Kerr, managing director at Kerr’s Tyres and Auto, and Ryan Mawhinney, senior relationship manager of commercial banking NI at Ulster Bank.

A major supplier of tyres and car services is creating twenty new jobs in a £2.5m investment as it aims to double its sites.

Kerr’s Tyres and Auto in Antrim is investing in a new headquarters with a distribution and retail centre, bringing the total number of staff to 100. The building is due to be finished in August.

The family business was set up in 2002 and is owned by managing director Norman Kerr.

It has nine tyre and auto services centres on the island.

The firm has four branches in the Republic, following the acquisition of Auto Tyre Services in Dublin this year and the opening of two additional centres in Donabate and Ballymount.

Last year it acquired M&S Tyres in Enniskillen to increase its presence in the west of the province.

It also has branches in Antrim, Belfast, Coleraine and Newtownards.
