POLICE are putting on beach patrols in a bid to combat the menace of quads and other vehicles.

The PSNI North Coast Facebook page said on Sunday: ‘Attention all beach goers! Police have been receiving numerous reports of quads, bikes and other vehicles being used on our local beaches.

‘This has the potential to hurt or seriously injure children and families looking to enjoy a nice day out.

‘Police will be patrolling the beaches and taking a zero tolerance approach to anyone caught driving in dangerous manner, unable to provide proper documentation or putting other beach users at risk.’
