Spar restricts customers to buying no more than three of each item to ‘make sure no shoppers go without’

SPAR shops across Northern Ireland including County Antrim have introduced a ban on buying more than three of the same item.

It came into force at midday on Wednesday.

A message on social media said:’Spar NI has decided to place a restriction of goods across our stores. Shoppers can purchase no more than three of each item.’

They said it was to help ‘protect our most vulnerable’ and alleviate the pressure on suppliers and ‘make sure none of our shoppers go without’.

The move comes after many items sold out in all types of supermarkets across Northern Ireland because of the coronavirus pandemic.
