‘STAB RAMPAGE’: Man (38) due in court to face charges connected with incidents in which a cyclist allegedly randomly attacked women

A 38-year-old man has been charged with offences including five counts of ‘assault occasioning actual bodily harm’, one of ‘attempted grievous bodily harm with intent’ and one of ‘possession of an offensive weapon’.

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates in the morning, Saturday 17 October.

As is usual procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

The charges follow a number of stabbing incidents in Belfast at the start of the week when a male on a bicycle allegedly targeted women as they walked in the city.
