ANTRIM town centre is set to look even better thanks to an improvement scheme being delivered by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.
At their recent meeting, Planning Committee gave the go-ahead for the streetscape project which will see the area in and around the entrance to Castle Mall stretching 55 metres to High Street transformed with new high quality paving and granite kerbing.
New street furniture will also be installed across the site and all the improvements will be in-keeping with the recently completed phases of the ongoing Environmental Improvement Schemes in the town.
Welcoming the investment, Committee Chairman, Alderman Philip Brett said: “I am delighted to see further investment in the streetscape in and around Antrim by Council.
“This is greatly enhancing the look of the area and making it a much more attractive place for residents and visitors alike.
“The quality of materials and finish on the work to date has been second to none and I look forward to this high standard being continued on this latest phase on the improvement projects.
“My thanks are extended to Council for having the foresight to continually deliver projects that improve the Borough for everyone and make it a welcoming and beautiful place for all to enjoy.”
