University roadshow is taking a ‘virtual tour’ this year with first event for Northern Ireland schools being held this Thursday

THE University Roadshow – a careers event for sixth form students to engage in and explore what third level higher education has to offer – is back for its fifth consecutive year.

However, this year because of the pandemic, the University Roadshow team has decided to make this a little different by going ‘virtual’.

They will be running two events online, Thursday 24th September for Northern Ireland schools and Thursday 22nd October for Republic of Ireland schools.

They have many universities signed up already to join their 2020 virtual experience including Liverpool John Moores, Newcastle Uni, University of Dundee, University of Cumbria & Glasgow Caledonian to name a few.

University Roadshow Manager Yvonne Connolly, who is based in Armoy, said: “These are unprecedented times and students more so than ever need to stay connected with universities to help them prepare/progress to the next crucial stage of their journey.

“The Virtual University Roadshow is an excellent and innovative way to bring together students and universities. I would encourage schools and students to get involved and see what exciting opportunities there may be to study outside of Northern Ireland.”

The virtual roadshow will provide advice on third level higher education options, including information on the UCAS application, process, tuition fees, student loans, budgeting, career opportunities and much more.

There will be universities taking part from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, and this year it will also include European universities.

The University Roadshow is organised by Education Recruitment & Marketing an education consultancy which specialises in recruitment and marketing.
