Van Gogh film on screen at Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart

A portrait of Pere Tanguy, painted by Vincent Van Gogh highlights Japanese influences on his work

FLOWERFIELD Arts Centre in Portstewart will screen a beautiful film about Van Gogh and the influence of Japan’s cultural heritage on his work on Thursday 19th September at 11am.

The film charts these influences as it leads up to the show ‘Van Gogh and Japan’ at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.

Though he never visited Japan, it had the most profound influence on him and his art.

The film travels to France, the Netherlands and Japan to further explore the remarkable heritage that made Van Gogh the artist we know today.

Flowerfield say the screening is perfect for schools and community groups with an interest in art and the work of this great painter.

Tickets cost £5 and a group booking discount is available. To book your seat or for more information email info@flowerfield.org or call 028 7083 1400.
