AN AUDI driver doing 96mph failed to immediately stop for police who put on sirens and flashing lights on the Frosses Road near Cloughmills.

Ray Hanson (35), of Glenarm Avenue, Portrush, came to police attention on November 17 last year.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday guilty pleas were entered to charges of exceeding a 70mph speed limit and failing to stop for police.

A defence lawyer said the defendant apologised when he eventually did stop.

The defendant was given five penalty points and fined £350.
