Agency health worker banned from road for a week

Ballymena Court

A JUDGE said he would exercise discretion and only ban an agency health worker for a week because of the “importance of your occupation”.

District Judge Nigel Broderick was speaking at Ballymena Magistrates Court where Sabina Kowalik (35), of Rosses Meadow, Ballymena, admitted driving a Citroen C4 car without insurance at Waveney Road in Ballymena last November.

She already had six points on her licence and the six points for the new offence meant she reached 12 and triggered a ban.

A defence lawyer said there had been an issue with the insurance firm regarding a driving licence and the defendant had believed that had been rectified before the November detection.
