Alleged over-the-limit motorist claims he was in a ‘dissociated state’

Court

A man who claims he may have been in a “dissociated state” denies driving with excess alcohol in the vicinity of Lisnablagh Road in Coleraine, a court heard.

David Warnock Cochrane (60), of Frosses Road near Dunloy, is alleged to have committed an offence on March 2 this year.

The case was mentioned at Coleraine Magistrates Court and adjourned to mid-August for a contest.

Defence barrister Francis Rafferty said the defendant believed he “may have suffered what was a dissociated state”.
