Ballymena Court hears man is accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent

A MAN appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday accused of causing grievous bodily harm to a female with intent.

Andrew Farquhar (18), with an address listed as Drumtara in the town, is charged in relation to September 1 last year.

A prosecution lawyer said it was a “serious matter” and asked for an adjournment for eight weeks.

No further details were given to the court and the defendant has yet to enter either a guilty or not guilty plea.

The defendant was given £500 bail with a condition that he is to have no contact with the complainant.

The case was adjourned to the end of March.
