Ballymena Court hears man with Ahoghill address faces number of charges including drugs matters

A MAN accused of drugs related offences has had his case further adjourned at Ballymena Magistrates Court.

Lee Purdy (27), with an address listed as Brookfield Gardens in Ahoghill, faces 13 charges.

Ten of the charges relate to last September.

The charges include possessing cannabis; possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply; possession of ‘criminal property’; possessing an offensive weapon – a baseball bat – in a public place, Brookfield Gardens; resisting a police officer; obstructing the same officer; assaulting the same officer; assaulting another officer; possession of herbal cannabis and possession of herbal cannabis with intent to supply.

The defendant is also charged with being concerned in the supply of cannabis between January 1, 2017, and May 28, 2020.

He is also accused of possessing herbal cannabis and possession of ‘criminal property’ on May 28 this year.

The case was mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court, sitting in Antrim, and adjourned to September.
