Ballymena Court

TWO men have appeared side by side in the dock at Ballymena Magistrates Court to face charges of making an affray in the vicinity of Main Street in Larne.

They are also charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place – a hatchet – and causing criminal damage to a Seat Ibiza belonging to a woman.

Paul Robert Beggs (29), with an address given as HMP Maghaberry and Thomas Samways (23), of Gardenmore Place in Larne, are charged in connection with October 7 last year.

The cases were sent to Antrim Crown Court for arraignment in April with Beggs remanded in custody and Samways released on bail.
