A 20-year-old motorist caught doing 101 mph in a 70mph zone on the Frosses Road has appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court where he received four penalty points and a £300 fine.

Daniel Huey, of Stroanshesk Park, Ballycastle, committed the speeding offence on February 18 this year.

He pleaded guilty at court where he did not have a legal representative.

Deputy District Judge Noel Dunlop said it was a very high speed but noted the defendant had a previously clear record.
