Ballymena Court hears motorist ‘answered urgent call’

Ballymena Court

POLICE spotted a motorist using a hand held mobile phone and a defence solicitor told Ballymena Magistrates Court the defendant had answered because he was expecting an “urgent” call.

Ian Cecil Alan Boal (31), of Elmdale in Antrim, came to the attention of the PSNI in the Broughshane area on October 2 this year.

At court he was given three penalty points and fined £100.

Defence solicitor Stewart Ballentine said his client now has a hands-free phone kit.
