A WOMAN has admitted what a judge called a “particularly nasty” fraud by false representation case in which the defendant claimed to have authority to withdraw £230 using a bank card in the name of another person.

Stacey Sara Patricia McElwee (28), with an address listed as Galgorm Road in Ballymena, committed an offence on August 8 this year.

The case was mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday and adjourned to December for a pre-sentence report.

Defence barrister Thomas McKeever said the defendant had “long-standing mental health and drug issues”.

The full details of the case have yet to be outlined but Deputy District Judge Trevor Browne said the fraud was a “particularly nasty one”.
