Ballymena man admits benefit fraud

Ballymena Court

A Ballymena man has admitted benefit fraud.

Robert Rainey (49), formerly of Dunfane Park but now living at Braid Court, appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday in connection with four charges.

He made false declarations in 2013, 2014 and 2015 with a view to obtaining Jobseekers Allowance.

Between 2013 and 2014 he failed to declare a change of circumstances that he was working.

Defence barrister Stephen Law said the defendant had already agreed a repayment plan.

The case was adjourned to July for a pre-sentence report.
