Ballymena man admits trademark breaches which were detected a week before Christmas

A BALLYMENA man has admitted breaching registered trademarks which came to light a week before Christmas.

Neil Greer (41), of Dalriada Walk, admitted nine charges relating to December 18, 2017.

The case was mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The charges are that ‘with a view to gain for yourself or another or with intent to cause loss to another and without the consent of the proprietor, had in your possession, custody or control in the course of a business, goods which bore or the packaging of which bore a sign identical to or likely to be mistaken for a registered trademark.’

Names referred to in the charges include: Nars, Laura Mercier, L’Oreal, Kylie Jenner, Ben Nye, Huda Beauty, Nike, Nintendo and Pokemon.

The case has been adjourned to mid-October for a pre-sentence report.
