A man has been charged with assaulting a doctor occasioning her actual bodily harm at Antrim Area Hospital.
Gareth Davis (28), with an address at Smithfield Place in Ballymena, is also accused of being disorderly at the hospital and attempting to damage a medical trolley last month.
He is further accused of assaulting a female and causing damage to her reading glasses.
The defendant appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday where Deputy
District Judge Brian Archer said it was possible that because there was an alleged ‘Section 47’ offence against a doctor at a hospital the case could be referred to the Crown Court.
The defendant was released on £500 bail and he is not to contact the doctor or the other female and he is banned from an area in the Ballymena district.
He must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The case was adjourned to April 4.
