Beautician commits driving offences on ‘school run’

Ballymena Courthouse.

A BEAUTICIAN who committed driving offences on the ‘school run’ has been banned from the road for three months and fined £300.

Elvelina Grebin (30), of Dunclug Park in Ballymena, was detected at the town’s Cushendall Road on January 24 this year.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court she admitted speeding, being an unaccompanied learner driver and not having L plates displayed.

The speed was 38mph in the 30mph zone and the defendant had failed to take up a fixed penalty.

Defence solicitor Stewart Ballentine said that ordinarily the defendant’s children were picked up from school by another person but on the date in question Grebin took to the road after being “let down”.

The court heard the car has now been “sold”.

The defendant had a previous record for driving offences.
