Disorderly man put off train in Ballymena … then police find drugs in his underwear

Ballymena Bus and Rail Centre

POLICE found drugs hidden in the underwear of a disorderly man who was put off a train in Ballymena.

Jason Morton (30), was travelling from Coleraine to Belfast and at one stage a train conductor feared he was going to be headbutted by the defendant.

Drugs were also found in a follow-up search at the defendant’s home.

The defendant was at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday for sentencing on charges including assault, disorderly behaviour and possession of cocaine, cannabis, Diazepam and Temazepam.

The offences happened last October.

The defence barrister was Thomas McKeever.

District Judge Nigel Broderick said he would defer sentencing for six months to allow the defendant to engage positively in relation to an Order he received at another court and he must also stay out of trouble.

The judge told the defendant if he abides by those conditions he would not be sent to prison next year.
