Drink driver injured after crashing vehicle against a tree

A MAN who injured himself and damaged his vehicle after crashing against a tree in a single vehicle collision at Liminary Road near Kells whilst under the influence of alcohol has been banned from driving for a year and fined £250.

Jordan Cuckson (21), of Caulside Park, Antrim, had an alcohol/breath reading of 68 – the legal limit is 35 – following the crash on July 6 this year.

Defence barrister Stephen Law told Ballymena Magistrates Court the defendant’s “head was in a very bad place at the time” of the offence.
