A DRINK driver went into a bathroom and tried to brush his teeth when police followed him, a court heard.
Cameron Brady (25), of Millbrooke Manor in Ballymoney, came to the attention of the PSNI when they spotted a fault with a light on his vehicle as it left a filling station in the town on the evening of December 15 last year.
Police followed the vehicle and the defendant was found to over the drink drive limit.
A defence solicitor said the defendant had been at a house party where he had been drinking until 7am and later that night he had driven to a shop to buy some groceries.
At Coleraine Magistrates Court on January 6 the defendant admitted charges of driving with excess alcohol and uninsured driving and was banned from driving for a year and fined £350.
District Judge Peter King said it was an “unhappy set of circumstances”.
