Drink driver was ‘all over road and almost hit pedestrians’

A DRINK driver who was “all over the road” nearly struck pedestrians before being found slumped in a semi-conscious state in a vehicle in the harbour area of Portrush, Ballymena Magistrates Court heard.

Owen Colville Rowell (71), with addresses listed as Belfast and at Galgorm Road in Ballymena, admitted driving with excess alcohol in blood and was banned from driving for three years and fined £300.

The incident happened on May 14 this year.

He had an alcohol in blood reading of 182 with the legal limit being 80.
