Former taxi driver caught speeding twice within three days

A MAN described in court as a former taxi driver has been given six penalty points and fined £160 after being caught speeding twice within three days.

Gordon Albert Boam (61), of Braid Court in Ballymena, came to the attention of the authorities in a Skoda on August 14 when he was doing 42mph in a 30mph zone and on August 16 he was detected doing 44mph in the same area – the town’s Cullybackey Road.

The matter was mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court.
