Honey stolen from shop in Ballymena

A MAN who stole honey, alcohol and a male grooming kit with a total value of £44 from a Co-Op store has been fined £100 at Ballymena Magistrates Court.

Kurtis Mitchell (26) of Patrick Place in the town, admitted theft following an incident on September 20 last year.

A prosecutor said the defendant was identified on CCTV and made full admissions.

The court, on Thursday, heard the defendant recently appeared at the Crown Court in respect of another matter.

Regarding the Co-Op incident, a defence solicitor said Mitchell had been drug related issues for a number of years.

On the date in question he had consumed alcohol and was intoxicated.

The defendant was also ordered to pay compensation of £43.90.
